“The Gift of Suffering”

Details

Why do we suffer ? Is there a reason why some suffer more than others ?
The Buddha said to be human is to suffer but is suffering inevitable ?

Eckhart Tolle often talks about how suffering can be a catalyst for awakening and transformation. He suggests that when we fully embrace our suffering, instead of resisting or trying to escape it, we open ourselves up to the possibility of profound spiritual growth. Suffering can serve as a wake-up call, prompting us to question our beliefs, attachments and identities.

“Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional “

Join us on June 15th when we will explore, with the aid of teachings from Eckhart Tolle and others, how suffering is our teacher and can be the gateway to freedom.

A group of people coming together in a state of presence generates a collective energy field of great intensity. It not only raises the degree of presence of each member of the group but also helps to free the collective human consciousness from its current state of mind dominance.”

Living A Life Of Presence - Coming Home To Your True Nature

13th July 2024

Eckhart Tolle talks a lot about presence but what is it ? Presence is known by many names, some call it awareness, consciousness, inner knowing. It is the essence of our true nature. So if presence is our true nature why do we not experience it all the time ?
Presence is always present in the background but is veiled by experience, thoughts, feelings and sensations. We get so caught up in the human egoic identification of self that we overlook our true essence of presence.

Join us on July 13th for our next in person mini-retreat when we will explore, with the aid of teachings from Eckhart Tolle and others, how to begin to lift the veil of the illusory self and to live a life of presence.

These retreats are experiential in nature with exercises, meditations and simple techniques to help bring you back to the aliveness of the present moment.

Residential Retreats

Living a Life of Presence – Weekend Retreats

These are an opportunity for you to retreat from the busyness of day to day life and immerse yourself in the peace and tranquility of the Cornish countryside.

These include :

  • One to one time with myself to explore what you bring to retreat and what you discover during your stay.
  • Meditation practice. Stillness and silence are an important part of any retreat. It is only by spending time in stillness that we can really begin to find our true self. I recommend reading Eckhart’s book “ Stillness Speaks “ before attending a retreat.
  • Time in nature. We are surrounded by the wonder of nature but so very rarely see it. Spending time in nature is one of our greatest teachers.

The beautiful countryside of Cornwall offers a unique learning ground in the practice of presence.

It’s time to pause and slow down. Listen to the voice of your heart, it’s calling you home. If you are tired of life, feeling stressed, unhappy or dissatisfied with any aspect of your life, and ready for change, then a retreat may be for you. There is a different way to live. It’s time to rest, reflect and discover who you really are.
